“A world of cute photos in one shop” – this is the main concept of “moreru mignon”; a shop where you can enjoy good quality services such as the photo sticker printing machine. A moreru mignon has just opened on the 7th floor of SHIBUYA 109!

 main

Sweets artist KUNIKA produced the interior design of the shop. Just some of the main focuses of the store include the enormous cake sofa, the large dome canopy, the cute sweets bathroom, and much more! This peculiar world of sweets portrays “a country of confectionary”.

sub2

Moreru mignon’s opening commemoration campaign was launched on Saturday 9th September and is still ongoing! Now you can get your hands on some photogenic lollipop candy or ANNA SUI makeup product samples (foundation and puff set).

Let’s take a walk around moreru mignon ♡

Minty green donuts all around!
Sit on one or peak through the hole – there are so many poses you can make for the perfect picture!

▼ A comment from KUNIKA

A dreamy wonderland of sweets – I wanted to make it a reality! This world is packed to the brim, including a large castle cake sofa, a chocolate makeup room, large donuts and parfait, and so much more! From the floor to the ceiling, the room is filled with colour. This is a world that nobody has ever seen before. Let go of reality and enter a new dimension.

Spin around 360 degrees – everywhere you look is a perfect spot to take a photo! My top recommendation is the large cake sofa because of its large impact. Please take a seat and take a picture! In addition, there are so many mirrors everywhere – from the walls to the ceiling. Taking a picture of a reflection makes for a very interesting experience! From one photo point, there are an endless number of ways to take a picture. I want everyone to experiment with a range of angles and make their own unique photos!

sub12

A picture of this place would make for an amazing Facebook, Twitter or Instagram post! Make sure yous nap some purikura photos and commemorate!

“Kifu,” a restaurant that plates up an “unconventional” style of traditional Japanese food for customers to enjoy, is serving up an early seasonal autumntime cuisine menu for a limited time from September 1st to September 30th.

img_137227_2 copy

This list of dishes was thought up by 名前, a culinary master who absorbed the diverse food culture of New York over the span of 20 years. The restaurant is also offering a carefully selected range of Japanese sake chosen by a sake connoisseur which can be paired as a set.

*The restaurant also caters to English speakers.

A Look at the Early Autumntime Menu

The courses of each dish retain the traditional “Japanese” aspects such as dashi, soy sauce and miso, while also incorporation various other elements. And while the dishes take advantage of the goodness of each of these traditional base ingredients, Kifu also puts a spin on each dish to erase any preconceived notions about them and create new and original approaches for customers to enjoy.

<Yellowtail Amberjack with Seaweed Sea Salt Carpaccio with Autumntime Vegetables>

This dish includes the chewy flavour of the yellowtail amberjack, the delicious taste of seaweed sea salt, and seasonal autumntime vegetables all of which can be enjoyed together with Kifu’s own linseed oil which is said to be good for one’s health. The dish goes perfectly with fruity sake and white wine.

Situated in north-west Tokyo, Bromagee just opened on September 13th as Kawagoe’s first ever shop specialising in chocolate where they sell cooked chocolate fondant that you can take away to eat while walking.

img_137728_1

Kawagoe is located just one hour from central Tokyo. It is a tourist hot spot and is home yo Kawazukuri Street, a place reminiscent of the Edo period which has earned it the nickname “Little Edo.” The building used to open Bromagee has been renovated from a traditional Japanese house and given a modern Japanese touch that still breathes the Little Edo air of Kawagoe.

img_137728_3

The main treat to look out for when visiting is their fresh fondant chocolate, made form high quality couverture chocolate.

The fondant chocolate is made fresh on site and indulges you in its melt-in-the-mouth, full-bodied chocolate aroma. All the fondants are made by hand at the shop meaning you can enjoy their fresh flavour every time.

img_137728_4

There are 16 other chocolate goodies to choose from besides the fondant. Look out for their crunchy chocolate sweet potato fries made using potatoes grown in Kawagoe, as well as their chocolate crunches made with soy sauce from a long-established shop called “Fueki Shoyo” which has been around since 1789.

img_137728_8

The chocolate sweet potato crunches can be enjoyed crispy as they are, and the soy sauce crunch chocolates have that perfect harmonious flavour of the chocolate and the soy sauce. A special event was held before the shop opened where people could buy the products. People were impressed and praised the shop, saying things like “It’s very Kawagoe-like – it’s great,” and “The packaging is cute and is perfect as a souvneir.”

“It is an honour and a privilege for me to be able to perform at the Kabukiza Special Night event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Tokyo International Film Festival. I will be performing Otokodate Hana no Yoshiwara, a piece I create 3 years ago. It comes from the Sewa-Kyogen piece Gosho no Gorozou by Kawatake Mokuami. It tells of the charm and disposition of a chivalrous man going to see his lover. I hope you will enjoy the stylised beauty of kabuki which overflows with elegance. Many people come from all over the world every year to see Kabukiza Special Night, so I am very much looking forward ot it. I hope to deliver the wonder of Japanese culture to first-timers of kabuki and the rest of the world.”

The most recommended ingredient is “Katsube Gyu,” black cattle produced in Shimane Prefecture.
